Code : Interacting with the clipboard

I was ask for one project to copy data from one of the sites to the user's clipboard, after some research around, I found the "Zero Clipboard" code.
This code works really good, but it is too complicated for my needs.
It requires to much javascript, and this can get you in troubles if you need to run this code inside a popup window, or other actual dynamic HTML elements.

So I've made some changes, and create a much more simple version. which uses a basic flash button with an icon in it.

Ligth Particlesspeak

Lab : Light Particles Interacting with Obstacles.

Time ago, I found a experiment with particles on the site "asluv.com".

I like it, but it was a little slow, so I decide to change the code a little, and just avoiding the use of sprites, I got a great improvement on the speed.

This AS3 experiment uses a BitmapData to determine whether the particles should change their speed in function of the background color of the bitmap.

There is a GlowFilter and BlurFilter applied to the particles, to create a nicer visual result.
Playing just with the filter, we can get very diferent and nice result.

Moving Lots of Particles with ActionScriptspeak

Lab : Moving 300.000 particles

In this experiment with actionscript 3.0,
I'll be playing around with 100.000 to 300.000 particles at a time.

Create particles is really easy in actionscript, and I'm always doing lots of experiments with lots of sprites or movieClips, and then move then around.

But the problem is that it doesn't take long to have so many particles on the stage that Flash can no longer handle it.
In fact, depending on the code you use for interacting btween this particles, it really doesn't take that many Sprites on the stage at all for Flash to start falling apart.

Asteroidsspeak

Notes : Old arcades strike back!

The year was 1979, and video games had, lets say...
lets resources available that today.

The main Asteroids game uses only 6 KB of ROM code and another 2 KB of vector ROM contains the main graphical elements, less resources that this html page.

That didn't matter to me, and loots of people of my generation, who spend a lot of time, and money, playing asteroids.

Asteroids was so popular that sometimes they had to install larger boxes to hold the amount of coins
